Christine’s spiritual self … is really this Lady of the Valley who wears a cloak made of autumnal maple leaves. It whispers in the breeze as she walks along the life’s paths and through its lanes. She strives to be as one with nature and sharing her appreciation with her grandchildren. One day, when she was walking in the valley with two of them they heard the sound of a harp playing. It struck a note, which sent a peaceful warm sensation through their bodies. Their pace slowed as they reached a clearing and ahead of them saw a beautiful cottage covered in all their most favourite things…. Soft sugary sweets biscuits with crunchy pink icing, orange beads that glistened in the sun, photographs of days spent together and places they had shared. The Lady of the Valley swished over to the well standing next to the house and there, slowly drifting in the breeze, was a cocoon. Very carefully she leaned out her arm and with long elegant fingers took the cocoon in her hand. They all went into the cottage, so warm and welcoming and inside the three of them sat at the table, placing the cocoon on a beautiful miniature silk cushion in front of them. As they sat drinking their warm drinks and wondering what lay within the cocoon, their eyes were drawn to the magnificent sight of its shell slowly cracking open and from within a beautiful multicoloured butterfly breathing its new life, touching their hearts before flying into the sunlight. |
